Seplat (Pilot Project)
Installation of Water Cut Analyzer for water in oil measurement (Water cut meters for internal production measurement)
About Project
Project Scope: Installation of Water Cut Analyzer for water in oil measurement (Water cut meters for internal production measurement)
Problem: Reconciliation, uncertainty and challenges with water cut measurement across SEPLAT’s production facilities resulting in oil loss.
Our Solution: Successfully deployed our cutting edge water cut analyzer from Phase Dynamics
Results: Results showed improved BSW (water in oil) measurement with a net gain of ca. 3kbopd, post reconciliation of internal production measurement
Project Delivery Analysis
- Design, manufacture, installation and commissioning was successful
- Obtained results showed improved BSW (water in oil) measurement with a net gain of ca. 3kbopd, compared to auto sampler.
- Confidence in provisional net oil production reporting
- Available & reliable BSW (water in oil) data for determining stations net production without having to wait for lab analysis.
- Provides 24-hour real-time water cut data log at 10sec interval
- Very useful tool for production chemist as it eliminates/reduces manual sampling thereby reduces manpower wastage, reagents and equipment usage
- A good check on the entire water cut analysis process support in investigating net production loss. Obtained data log exposes sudden change in water cut trend
- Exposes inherent human/equipment errors during sampling and lab analysis
- Makes available data for water cut trending comparable to other measurement apparatus viz-a-viz weighted average, auto sampler etc.
